We started off today with some delicious voodoo donuts. Ashlee escorted us out of town into the beautiful Columbia river gorge. Perfect weather. Ran into Hans and “the warriors” recumbant cyclists, who we may see again in BC. Nick pulled an I-beam out of his tire, but the schwalbes were unphased. Ended the day perfectly with pizza

we tried to bike over the pass, but were thrwarted for various reasons. Now on train to seattle. The conductors are mean. More details to come.

i like trains but amtrak…

had a lovely time in seattle on our day off. we ate ice cream one with honey lavendar the other with ground up coffee. Andrea kindly let us turn her place into a bike hostel for a couple days. She’s joining us for the next little bit. Riding on bike paths all day is much better than gravel roads.

decided to go up the coast thru bellingham. May take ferry to canada. One site left at camp site. Ranger told us to go look at it before we said yes and that the last person gave up this site. Said we could go to canada if we didn’t like it. We’ll show her.

rode thru the burbs to the subway to vancouver. Rode all around the park north of downtown. I highly recommend it if any of you readers ever visit. Biker’s dream come true. Taking the day off in the rain. Andrea going back tonight but we’re picking up more bikers here. Onward

all gone

making a slow jaunt out of vancouver. Got a ride up a giant hill to the camp site with sherry who later came back with her husband to bring us a kettle of tea fresh off the stove. We’re in a wet wet rainforest. My socks have a gallon of water in them.
